Learn more about me, both professionally and personally.Ā

Hi, I'm Sion Cousins.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I have a deep appreciation for the arts. In my spare time, I enjoy collecting art, visiting museums, and immersing myself in contemporary art shows.

Travel is another passion of mine, offering new perspectives and experiences. I am currently traveling the world, and my wife and I are capturing all of our adventures on our YouTube Travel ChannelĀ

Professional Endeavours:

My passion for understanding and enhancing mental wellness led me to delve deeper into the realms of psychology and self-help. This pursuit culminated in me becoming a Counsellor. I firmly believe that the skills possessed by a counsellor have a profound impact on helping people with their mental performance. There is a crucial balance between mental wellness and mental performance, and having the skill set of a counsellor enables me to dive deep into the psyche, finding the best ways to unlock an individual's full potential.

From the moment I left school, my career has been driven by a passion for helping people, whether in their fitness, mental state, or professional life. My journey began as a Personal Trainer. This marked the start of a 14-year journey in the fitness industry, where I worked in Dubai and then founded multiple successful gyms in Australia. This journey also led me to establish a Corporate Wellness business, reflecting my commitment to holistic health in the workplace.

In addition to these endeavours, I ventured into the digital world, starting an online e-commerce store which achieved seven figures in sales. This venture culminated in a successful exit.Ā

Alongside these, in 2018, I purchased and renovated a ski lodge in Myoko, Japan (Ikigai Lodge) with some friends, which we still run today.

Athletic Pursuits:

I've proudly represented my state and country in sports like Squash, Olympic Weightlifting, and Touch Football. My competitive spirit then found a new avenue in CrossFit, where I competed for many years, embracing the challenges and rigour it demands.

I have completed numerous Marathons, Ultra-Marathons, and Ironman's. Some recent highlights include completing a 166-kilometre run across the Snowy River, which involved summiting Mount Kosciuszko (Australia’s highest peak), a 252-kilometre self-sufficient run through the Sahara Desert over six days, and, more recently, UTMB—a 177-kilometre race starting in France, crossing into Italy and Switzerland, and returning to France, circumnavigating Mont Blanc through the alps with over 10,000 metres of elevation gain.

These endurance events are not just physical challenges; they are lessons in discipline, persistence, and mental fortitude—lessons I am passionate about sharing with others.

I've guided athletes across a spectrum of goals. My experience also extends to the elite level, having been a coach multiple times for teams and athletes at The CrossFit Games. These coaching experiences have reinforced my belief that the lessons learned in athletic pursuits are invaluable and can be seamlessly transferred into everyday life, shaping one’s character and approach to challenges.
